Hastings High School is seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as Assistant Track & Field Coach - Distance.  Candidates are desired to have successful high school and/or collegiate level coaching and/or running experience, and/or related successful experiences in educational leadership. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the Raiders Track & Field program and the local community.  

REPORTS TO: 

Hastings High School Athletic Director and Head Girls Track & Field Coach, who provide overall job objectives and observe performance.

SUPERVISES:  

The Assistant Coach will advise, coordinate, and support the staff and personnel for the track & field program, according to expectations of the Athletic Director and the Head Track & Field Coach.

JOB GOALS: 

To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize individual and team success.  Concurrently, student-athletes shall receive values-based instruction that will develop pride in accomplishment, social behavior, self-discipline and confidence.  The successful coach shall demonstrate substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, as well as effectively establish positive relationships with all stakeholders.
