Hastings High School is seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as Head Girls Basketball Coach.   The head coach will coordinate the instruction, training, and development of all athletes and coaches at all levels in this sport.  They are expected to model a transformational, purpose-driven philosophy; represent a holistic definition of success; commit to personal development and collaboration; display a values-based approach as a coach who develops people first, and then the athlete, coaches the athlete first and then the skill, coaches for the student-athletes before themselves, develops a program not just coaches a team, makes a lasting, positive impact on the school community, and has meaningful, rewarding personal coaching experiences.

REPORTS TO: 

Hastings High School athletic director and principal, who provide overall job objectives and observe performance.

SUPERVISES:  

The head coach will advise, coordinate, and support the staff and personnel for the varsity team, and related HHS lower level teams, according to expectations of the Athletic Director.

JOB GOALS: 

To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and training necessary for them to realize individual and team success.  Student-athletes shall receive a values-based experience centered on integrity, the whole person, sportsmanship, work ethic, multi-sport participation, and fun.   The successful coach shall demonstrate substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, as well as effectively establish positive relationships with all stakeholders, in order to develop character and camraderie for all.
