POSITION TITLE: Food Service Substitute
FLSA: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Accurately count, weigh, and measure
- Follow instructions and take initiative in performance of assigned tasks
- Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, reach, and squat on a constant basis
- Physical ability to use hands and fingers dexterously
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must work in a hot, humid environment
- Must work in a cold, or below zero environment for short periods
REPORTS TO: Director of Food & Nutrition Services
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Complete tasks as assigned by the kitchen lead cook.
- Serve food according to recipe portion or as instructed.
- Wash pots, pans, trays, and other items using dish machine or three (3) compartment sink.
- Disassemble serving line and clean serving area
- Assist in total kitchen clean up.
- Perform cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Performs all tasks in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reports to work at scheduled time with proper uniform & appropriately groomed.
- Adheres to all school district rules & building rules & regulations.
- Utilizes proper hand washing techniques.
- Participates in meetings, training sessions & seminars as scheduled.
- Completes other tasks as assigned.
